Roku have been making streaming sticks and boxes and TV's for decades. I finally retired my old Roku box which I think is over 10 years old now. the new one works the same way, with the same user interface which I love, but is much faster and the model I bought (Roku 3820EU Streaming Stick) is just a stick plugged into the HDMI port rather than a separate box. It is also as cheap as chips on Amazon UK. My old TV doesn't have USB power so I found a power adapter and plugged in the supplied USB-C to USB A power cable.
